PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

35,000 square feet facility for multi media centre including post production. Project included Class A office space, movie stages, greenrooms, ADR studios, 50 seat screening room & commissary. The project included the design of sound studios and movie editing departments that incorporated "floating" slabs to provide sound isolation from the surrounding environment. The project also included a private movie / sound editing theatre that included sound absorption assemblies in the floor, walls, and roof.

 

CAPITOL ANNEX SITE IMPROVEMENTS Baton Rouge, LA

COMPLETION: August 2006

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

ARCHITECTS PLUS was lead designer on this project. The concrete sidewalks have been upgraded and can now withstand truck traffic to compensate for heavier load demand. Walks were relocated in some areas to avoid large oak tree roots. The landscape was also replaced to coincide with the new layout of the sidewalks. The parking lot has been reconfigured to allow for the buffer zone and the remainder of the parking lot has been maximized. This project required phasing to allow for adequate ingress/egress from the building and has been incorporated into the design.

 

BREC FOREST PARK MAINTENANCE BUILDING Baton Rouge, LA

AREA: 4,000 SQ FT

CONSTRUCTION COST: $750,000

COMPLETION: February 2007

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

This project included the demolition and replacement of the BREC Forest Park Maintenance Building in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The building was replaced with a new 4,000 square foot maintenance/shop building. It included an office, restrooms, and other similar spaces conductive to a general maintenance building. The above ground storage tanks were relocated and new covered fuel dispensing stations were added. A wash down area was also included that contained a water reclaiming system. The site is protected by security fencing and gates.

 

FORT PIKE MAINTENANCE BUILDING New Orleans, LA

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

This project included the demolition and replacement of a maintenance building at the Fort Pike State Historic Site.  The original building was badly damaged during two separate hurricanes.  That building was demolished and a new larger facility was built.  Because of the high (140) wind rating requirement wall roofing, doors, windows and general construction was vastly strengthened.  Design considerations included the addition of maintenance elevators to buildings to elevate habitable spaces above new flood zone requirements.

 

GRAND ISLE STATE PARK BATHHOUSE REPLACEMENT Grand Isle, LA

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

This project consisted of demolition and replacement of a 2,565 square foot bathhouse at Grand Isle State Park.  The original building was badly damaged during both Hurricane Katrina & Hurricane Gustav.  Because of the high (140) wind rating requirement , wall, roofing, doors, windows and general construction was vastly strengthened.  The building was also built on timber pilings to raise the lowest level of the building to 14’ above sea level.   It complies with ADA requirements.

 

GRAND ISLE STATE PARK HURRICANE REPAIRS Grand Isle, LA

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

This project included the demolition and the replacement of the existing comfort station, repairs to an existing manager’s residence (bunkhouse) and all approaches used to access the building, along with all supporting utilities and a boardwalk for public use beach access at Grand Isle State Park.  The project was part of an Emergency Replacement Program and the entire Assessment, Design, and Construction Documents was conducted within 30 days.

 

JIMMIE DAVIS STATE PARK CAMPGROUND BOAT DOCK Chatham, LA

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The project includes the construction of a new campground boat dock for overnight visitors to park boats.  The boat dock will have lighting, water connections and electrical outlets for charging marine batteries at each slip.  The boat dock will be covered for protection from the rain and sun.  The project will also provide ADA access to the dock via a concrete walk and associated parking as required. 

 

LAKE CLAIBORNE STATE PARK NATURE CENTER / MULTIPURPOSE FACILITY Homer, LA

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The approximately 2,200 square feet project was designed to include a multipurpose room for media presentations, an exhibition space, full service kitchen to serve up to 150 people, restrooms, as well as, space for an interpretive manager.
